Estel Buford Mullins

Estel Buford Mullins 82, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Bowling Green Nursing Home, Bowling Green, Virginia. Buford was born and raised in Dickenson County where he met and married his lifelong love, Peggy Cecile (Fleming) in 1957. They moved to Alexandria, Virginia where they resided and then made their home in Fredericksburg thereafter. Buford was a man of many skills; he loved working with his hands, working on his vehicles, building his workshop to change the oil in the pit that he built; making wood cabinets and beautiful shelves for Peggy. He made his living for his family working full time for Virginia Concrete Company driving a concrete mixer truck until he retired. A true believer in faith and one who loved the Lord with all his heart is the best description of Buford. He spoke of Jesus everywhere he went and to whom everyone he met. He had a love for gospel music playing his guitar and his sons and grandsons also inherited his gift of music. Buford and his faithful companion Peggy sang for the glory of God for many years; sometimes together with their children. Buford was preceded in death by his parents, Farley and Nellie Mullins, Clintwood, Virginia; two brothers, Chester and Donald Mullins; four sisters, Marie Rose, Rita Bell Blair, Judy Blevins, and Barbara Conner. Also, two precious daughters; Teresa Gail Covington and Angelia Diane Atkinson. Survivors Include: Wife of 63 years: Peggy Cecile (Fleming) Mullins Two Sons: Estel Wayne (Wanda) Mullins of Lorton, Virginia and Gary Scott (Gwyn) Mullins of Carmel Church, Virginia One Daughter: Cherrie Lynn Bailey of Fredericksburg, Virginia Two Sisters: Arbutus Moore of Clintwood, Virginia and Pauline Walters of Fredericksburg, Virginia Ten Grandchildren Six Great grandchildren The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 12:00 p.m. Clergymen Lester Mullins, Donnie Hamilton, and Lewis Mullins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, Virginia. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Mullins Family.
