Debbie stiltner

Our God in heaven opened the gates wide for Mrs. Debbie Lynn Stiltner, aged 66, of Elkin, NC on May 8, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1957 in Norton, VA to the late Earl and Judy Rose. Debbie’s early years were spent growing up in many locations, but primarily in northern Virginia and in Georgia. After marrying in 1983, she made her home in Pound, VA where she stayed busy with family, friends, and church activities. Those gatherings anticipated her prized dish, coleslaw, from a recipe she rarely shared. Unbeknownst to her family, Debbie was an avid Bible scholar and completed at least five correspondence study courses from 1977 to 1984 in topics covering salvation, doctrine, and soul winning. Debbie was so kind, selfless, humble, and had a heart of gold. She would pray for everyone daily and loved with all her heart, but sometimes showed a cantankerous streak with those close to her. She enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, sitting on her porch swing, visiting her family back in Virginia, and loving on her grandbabies. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 36 years, Gary Allen Stiltner, her brothers Stevie Rose and Terry Rose, and her sister Donna Belcher. She is survived by her only son, Cody, and his wife, Briana, and granddaughters Emerson and Lyndy of Ararat, NC. She is also survived by her brother, Kenny and wife Linda Rose of Dobson, NC, sister Robin and husband Sam Hampton of Dobson, NC, and sister Carla and husband Lance Hamby of Dobson, NC Family will receive friends Monday, May 13, 2024 in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel beginning at noon, funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with Clergy; Ramsey Embry and Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery in Clintwood, VA The family will be serving as pallbearers Her family would like to send their most sincere thanks to the CICU staff of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center for the tremendous care Debbie received during the last days of her life on this earth.
