Lottie Jones

Lottie Mae Billa-Jones, 79, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned on August 3, 2026, just days shy of her 80th birthday. Affectionately known as “Sister” to her family and friends, Lottie leaves behind a rich legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. Born in Philadelphia on August 7, 1946, Lottie was the cherished daughter of the late Eula and Sidney Morris. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, where she formed deep roots in the community she would support for the rest of her life. Lottie’s life was defined by her commitment to family. In 1961, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Joseph R. Billa. Their union was blessed with four children, whom Lottie loved beyond measure. Years later, she found love again and married the late Andrew Jones Sr. on June 14, 1994. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate household. As a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend, she served as a cornerstone of her community. Lottie possessed a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, cared for, and deeply loved, opening her heart and home to countless neighborhood children over the years. Professionally, Lottie was a beloved fixture at Norman Dee’s Hair Salon for more than 30 years. Demonstrating the grit and determination that defined her character, she began as a shampoo girl and worked her way up to become a highly skilled and talented colorist. Outside of work, Lottie embraced life’s simple pleasures and took great pride in staying active. She was an avid bowler, an insatiable reader, a master of puzzles, and a dedicated gym-goer who loved challenging her mind and sharing vibrant laughs with those around her. She will be forever remembered for her generous heart, resilient spirit, sharp humor, and profound devotion. While she is no longer here in physical form, her wisdom and beautiful spirit remain etched in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Lottie is survived by her loving children, Lottie, Antoinette, Joseph, and Louis. She leaves a vast and beautiful legacy through her 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a loving host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A celebration of life service will be held by the family to honor her precious memory. A beautiful soul is never forgotten. Her love becomes a part of us and continues to live on through the memories we carry in our hearts.
