Paul Wayne Cox

Paul Wayne Cox, age 85, was reunited with his heavenly father and the love of his life, his wife Evelyn on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Heritage Hall, Wise, Virginia. Wayne was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. He was a retired coal miner after 38 ½ years in the mine. He was a member of the UMWA and a member of George’s Fork Old Regular Baptist Church until its closure, and he then moved his letter to Little Hope Old Regular Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Evelyn Cox; his parents, Allen and Sarepta Cox; an infant son, Freddie Paul Cox, brothers, Jerry Cox, Tom Cox, Herbert Cox, Kirby Cox, Larry Neal Cox, Jonah Cox, and Joe Cox; sisters-in-law Linda Cox, Alene Cox, and Gail Cox; and brother-in-law, Alfred Domjahn. Survivors Include: His Daughter: Tammy (Joe) Dingus of Pound, Virginia Sons: Jarvis Cox (Rita) and Greg (Debra) Cox, both of Clintwood, Virginia Two Brothers: Jessie Cox and Berton (Benita) Cox, both of Clintwood, Virginia Two Sisters: Barbara (Bobby) O’Quinn of Haysi, Virginia and Sharon Domjahn of Sneedville, Tennessee Sisters-in-law: Joyce Cox, Elvina Lowe, and Agnes Cox Nine Grandchildren: Angel (Chris) Cox, Kermit (Deana) Cox, Joshua (Chasity) Cox, Stacy (Glen) Cox, Autumn OQuinn, Amanda (Barry) Mullins, Paula Cox, Amanda (Isaac) Johnson, and Brad (Julia) Mullins Sixteen Great Grandchildren: Amber Arwood, Dakota Arwood, Gabby Hilton, Allison Anderson, Kaleb Hilton, Halee Cox, Bailey Anderson, Kasey Cox, Jacob Cox, Megan Cox, Hunter (Lauren) Bowman, Kali (Logan) Bowman, Courtney (Cody) Mullins, Brittney (Clyde) Silcox, Max Johnson, and Noah Mullins Five Great Great Grandchildren: Dominic Hilton, Brayden Butler, Amora Mullins, Kenyan Mullins, and Corbyn Mullins A host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with Tarncy Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery, Raven Lane on Red Onion Mtn, Clintwood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Jarvis Cox, Greg Cox, Joe Dingus, Joshua Cox, Kermit Cox, Glen Arwood, Hunter Bowman, Bobby O’Quinn, Logan Lagow, and Chris Anderson.
