Emory Mullins Sr

June 21, 1931 - May 20, 2022

Emory Allen Mullins, Sr., age 90 passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, attended Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Mullins; his parents, Ira Swanson Mullins and Hattie Josephine Fleming Mullins; his brother, Carl Mullins; his sisters, Irene Wilburn, Fern Dameron, Gaye Rager, and Nina Hensley. Survivors Include: Two Daughters: Kathy and her husband, Greg Mullins of Caney Ridge, Coeburn, Virginia and Teresa Mullins of Fairfax Station, Virginia One Son: Dr. Emory Allen Mullins, Jr. and wife, Justin of Church Hill, Tennessee Two Brothers: Doyle Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia and Jonah Gorman of Wise, Virginia One Sister: Faye Wright of Abingdon, Virginia A Special Friend: Lenia Rowe Seven Grandchildren: Jeremy Mullins, Brandon Evans, Parish Dennis, Sherry Leigh Dennis, Noah Dennis, Zane Mullins, and Haley Mullins A host of nieces and nephews Pallbearers: Jeremy Mullins, Brandon Evans, Parish Dennis, Zane Mullins, Greg Mullins, and Noah Dennis Honorary Pallbearers: Benny Kennedy, Shanghi Nichols, Benny Smith, Benjamin Kennedy and Hayden Hickman The family will receive friends Monday, May 23, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. The family is asked to meet at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 24 2022 at 11:00 a.m. for procession to the Robert Lee Mullins Cemetery, Caney Ridge, Virginia where a private burial will be held. Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Mullins family. Online condolences may be made online at www.mullinsfuneralhome.net.
