Joyce Gail Owens, age 74, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 8:50 a.m. in Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She was born December 11, 1946 to the late Earl Carter Owens and Helen Sutherland Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Patricia Owens and her beloved sister, Brenna Earlena Owens on September 14, 2012; her paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Ellen Owens; her maternal grandparents, Wade and Nannie Sutherland; and also numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Survivors Include: Sister: Theresa Ellen Owens Senter and husband, Robert Ray Senter One Daughter: Anissa “Buffy” Owens Sweat and husband, LeDon of Palatka, Florida One Aunt: Jackie Sutherland Keene of Oakwood, Virginia Nephew: Brandon Ray Senter and wife, Sulee of Haysi, Virginia Great Nephew: Cody Ray Senter of Haysi, Virginia Great Niece: Kalee Ranee Senter of Haysi, Virginia Joyce Gail’s wishes were to be cremated. Also, due to COVID-19, no services will be held. “You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you forever and ever. Your loving Sis, Theresa”.
