Judith Stanley

Judith Ann Linkous Stanley, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family in Culpeper, VA. She was born in Clinchco VA, on June 24, 1941, a daughter of Ralph Holt Linkous and Ollie Marie Linkous. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Holt Linkous and Ollie Marie Linkous, and brother, Ralph Ballard Linkous. Judy was a graduate of Ervinton High School in Nora, VA, class of 1959, and worked 40 years as a secretary for the Department of Defense at Cameron Station, VA. She was an avid Washington Sports Fan and found great joy in attending Washington Redskins Games with friends and family members for over 20 years. She was a breast cancer survivor. She started every morning with 4 cups of reheated coffee. She enjoyed annual family vacations to Nags Head in the Outer Banks, and made the best loved biscuits and gravy at the beach and at her home, “Stoney Meadow Farm”. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and loved absolutely nothing more than spending time with her family. Judy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Joseph Stanley; one son, Joseph Allen Stanley (Lori); two daughters, Cheri Lynn Norris (Kevin) and Ann-Marie Metzger (Lee); one brother, Robert Donald “Bobby Don” Linkous (Anne); one sister, Melissa Hope Linkous Ball (Pete); one sister-in-law, Lindell Linkous; eight grandchildren, Andrea Kay Stanley, Randal Cole Stanley, Sarah Lynn McCormack (Ryan), Carolyn Virginia Campbell, Cody Wilson Campbell, Hailey Jade Metzger, Brock Allen Metzger, Coy Metzger; two great grandchildren, Olivia Jo McCormack and Maren Grace McCormack; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at noon in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel March 16, 2024 with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Clergy James “Subby” Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at the Temple Hill Memorial Park.
