November 4, 1931 - February 25, 2019
Lexie Mearl Fleming of Tarpon Virginia was born November 4th, 1931 she went to be with the Lord February 2019. Lexie was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County Virginia and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. Lexie was a hard working, giving, strong, devoted and heroic woman. She worked hard with her hands and made certain that every person she loved was cared for above herself. Many times she went without to see that her mother, siblings, grandchildren and even nieces and nephews had what they needed. She was known for sacrificing for others and was loved deeply by her family as the one to go to in times of trouble or sorrow. She was known to bear the burdens and grief of those around her, suffering in silence so that no one ever saw her pain. She was a virtuous woman, doing all she could for all she knew. Lexie was the caregiver for her mother and three siblings for decades, she never complained, she never let anyone down and she was a blessing to her entire family. Lexie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and make others laugh, for this she is to be respected as many times she was suffering, but never showed herself struggling. She was a true Appalachian woman of dignity, devotion and fortitude, never breaking and never bending. She was a great example to all who knew her and will be remembered for her loving heart, her faith in God, her simple intellect and inner beauty that shined through her sweet eyes. Lexie was preceded in death by two infant sons Radford Fleming and Mavis Fleming, two sons, Stanford Fleming and Anthony Fleming and a daughter Gloria Anne Fleming, her father Charlie Mullins, mother Orpha Mae (Dutton) Mullins, two brothers Noah and Jim Mullins, and a sister Emma Jean Wood. She is survived by her children Lorraine Stanley and husband Richard of Clinchco, Bruce Fleming of Wythville, Luther Fleming of Bristol, Andy Fleming of Cedar Bluff her brother Hansel Mullins, sisters Edith Mullins and Esther Wooten all of Tarpon Virginia.
