Ronald Wayne "Zeke" Childress

June 16, 1956 - August 26, 2020

Ronald Wayne “Zeke” Childress, age 64, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Norton Community Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. Zeke was a member of The Coalfield Beef Cattle and Land Use Association, Coalfield Sheep Association, Lonesome Pine Beekeepers, avid volunteer and “honorary” staff member of The Dickenson County Extension Office. He attended Lick Fork Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ethel Browning Childress and one brother, Bobby Ferriel Childress. Survivors Include: Father: Ralph Ferriel Childress of Clintwood, Virginia Two Sons: Blake Childress of Clintwood, Virginia and Brandell (Kristin) Fleming of Vernon, Florida One Daughter: Autumn (Kenny) Head of Church Hill, Tennessee Three Brothers: Gilmer (Charlotte) Childress of Haysi, Virginia, Frank (Reba) Childress of Clintwood, Virginia, and Paul (Janet) Childress of Spartanburg, South Carolina One Sister: Linda Childress of Wise, Virginia Grandsons: Hayden Mullins and Bryson Frost One Step Granddaughter: Arielle Head Several Nieces and Nephews Good Friend: Brad “Hoop” Mullins Family and friends are asked to meet at Mullins Funeral Home Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 1:30 to go in procession to The Childress Family Cemetery, South of The Mountain Rd, Clintwood, Virginia. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Barnes officiating. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Brad Mullins, Bobby Branham, Starland Fleming, Sam Mullins, Luke Mullins, and Danny Cantrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie Hampton, Brandell Fleming, Jason Mullins, and Joey Childress. Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Childress Family.
