Carl Printis Mullins

The journey of this life all started on July 12, 1940, in Wise County, VA, when the fifth child of eleven, a little boy was born to Ed Mullins and Lola Robinson Mullins. They named him Carl Printis Mullins. From that day in 1940 through the year of 1953, Carl would have six more siblings born to Ed and Lola Mullins. He was an Elder and Moderator of the Longs Fork Old Regular Baptist Church of the Bethel Association, Clintwood, VA. It was in the year of 1958 and a soldier in the army at Fort Jackson, SC, that his eyes looked upon the love of his life, the one that he always believed that God gave him to spend the rest of his life here on Earth with. On October 10, 1959, he married Phyllis Marie Dotson and along with the many ups and downs that is normal with life, they shared together whatever life threw at them. They kept their vows until death do them part for almost 50 years. To this union was born 7 children; 5 girls, Rhonda Carlene White and (Scott White) of Lebanon, VA, Denise Lor Balthis of Clintwood, VA, Cheryll Rae Dunford and (Chris Dunford) of Richlands, VA, Deonna Charlie McCready and (Sam McCready) of Meadowview, VA, Carmen Leah O’Rorke and (Mike O’Rorke) of Hermosa, South Dakota, 2 sons, Steven Dwayne Mullins and (Kim Mullins) of Norton, VA, and Randall Carl Mullins and (Jebra Mullins) of Wise, VA, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren all which he leaves to mourn his passing. He is also survived by a sister, Wilma Austin, a brother, Muncie Mullins, a brother, Earl Mullins, a brother Donnie Mullins, a brother, James Ott Mullins, a sister, Linda Jane Stone, a brother, Bob Mullins, a brother, Joe Lee Mullins, several nieces and nephews, and he was blessed with a long list of loving in-laws and friends, and his brother-in laws and sister-in laws were like his own brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Troy and Ethel Robinson, and Loranzie and Linda Jane Mullins, his parents, Ed and Lola Mullins, a sister, Erma Louise Mullins, and a brother John Mullins, his wife, Phyllis Marie Mullins, a grandson, Geoffrey Taylor Stanley, a granddaughter, Crystal Denise Mullins. He loved and was loved by many and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Family will receive friends Friday May 19th 2023 from 6:00 pm till 7:00 pm where a service will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with elder willie Cantrell officiating. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday May 20, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with elders Willie Cantrell and William McClanahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Powers Cemetery rt 72 Coeburn section. Pallbearers are : Nate Stovall,Mason Cook, Davin Mullins, Braeden Mullins, Payton Faidley, Parkis Willis, WesleyStanley and Scottie Setser.
