Covey Arnold Kiser Jr.

Covey Arnold Kiser, Jr, 74, went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2026. Arnold was born on October 27, 1951, in Wise County, VA. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Charlotte Meade Kiser; his grandparents, Clyde (Goldie) Kiser and Charlie (Jane) Reedy; his parents, Covey and Ruth Kiser; and his sister, Kathy Elaine Greear. Arnold is survived by his brother, Joe (Becky) Kiser; nephews, Matthew (Vika) Kiser, Andrew Kiser, and Steve Greear; niece Tina (Chad) French; several great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and a host of family and friends. Arnold is also survived by special friends who were always there for him, Donnie Meade (who was like a brother to him) and Tab (who was always willing to help). His buddy, Kyle Salyer, took him to the doctor and any place else he wanted to go. Also, special neighbors who helped him out, took him to church, gospel singings, and men’s breakfasts, “Mike Meade, Mark Meade, and Brian Vance.” He enjoyed regular phone calls with his cousin Bill Large and lifelong friend Betsy Yaratch. Arnold was a member of Meade Chapel Church, where he had attended since he was a child. He and his wife, Charlotte, enjoyed attending services, conferences, and gospel singings. Arnold was a retired certified master electrician and worked in the electrical field for many years. He was always “on call” in the community to help friends and neighbors who had any electrical needs or issues. Arnold was proud to be a lifetime member of the Sandy Ridge Fire Department. He was an active member for 40 years and obtained the title of 1st Sergeant. He loved going out to the fire hall and keeping up with the activity on his radio, even after he was no longer able to go out on calls. He loved his fire department family. He was meek and kind. He enjoyed being around people and was friendly to everyone. Arnold will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. According to Arnold’s wishes, there will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at The Meade Family Cemetery, Bold Camp Section, Pound, VA.
