Debra Ann Rose

Debra Ann Rose, 64, of Haysi, passed away peacefully at home on her birthday, October 9, 2024. If you knew her, you knew love. She was a very caring and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. She loved coffee, Coca-Cola, music, her animals, cleaning her house (especially vacuuming), and anything and everything tie-dye. Debbie was born in Wise, Virginia, on October 9, 1960, to Charles Edward and Wilma Jean Taylor. Debbie was the first child; later she welcomed brother Grey, and much later, almost 20 years later, she welcomed her baby brother Jason. On August 30, 1976, she welcomed her first child, John David, from a previous marriage; in 1983, she met the love of her life, Lacy Rose, and his daughter, Jessica. Debbie and Lacy were married on January 9, 1984. Together they had one child, Wesley Rose, on June 23, 1986. Debbie and Lacy had 5 grandchildren: Kayla, Michelle, Kylie, Austin, and Madoxx. Upon the death of their mother, Kayla and Austin were adopted by them both in 2009. Debbie had a huge love for all of her family and the community in which she lived. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Wilma Taylor; her maternal grandparents, Earl and Annie Mullins; and paternal grandparents, Bill and Bancie Taylor; her brothers, Grey Taylor and Jason Taylor; her husband Lacy Rose; her granddaughter Michelle Taylor; Special Uncle Jack Taylor; several other aunts and uncles; and her special canine companion Daisy. Those left behind to mourn her passing are her children: John (Miranda), Jessica (Brian), Wes (Heather), Kayla (Dillon), and Austin (Emma); 4 grandchildren, Kylie Deel, Madoxx Taylor, Shyridan and Alexia; Special Aunt Pauline Taylor; Sister in Law Brandy; her niece Emma and nephew Ryder; Stepmother Vonda Taylor; as well as a host of extended relatives and her beloved pets at home. Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter in her memory or the Esophageal Cancer Action Network at www.ecan.org. Family will receive friends Monday October 14 2024 at 1 p.m. with a celebration of life service to begin at 2 p.m. in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with clergy Darrell Milgrim to officiate
