In Loving Memory of Ella "Faye" Parrigan It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Ella "Faye" Parrigan, who left us on October 31, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old. Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived her life with a deep love for her family, always ready to boast about her children and grandchildren. No matter the occasion, Faye took immense pride in her loved ones, sharing their achievements and expressing how grateful she was for each of them. Faye had a passion for books and was an avid reader. Her Kindle was always filled with fresh titles, as she devoured stories each week. When she wasn’t lost in a book, she could be found solving puzzles in her word search books, challenging herself in ways that kept her mind sharp and her spirit playful. A hallmark of her home was her love for westerns, especially Gunsmoke, where Matt Dillon held a special place in her heart. Faye’s love for these shows wasn’t just about the stories—it was the experience. The TV was always on full blast, and you knew it was a real visit when the volume stayed at its highest setting. The energy she brought to those moments was contagious, and no one ever dared to turn it down. In the garden, Faye was in her element. She loved tending to her plants and would often share the fruits of her labor with friends and family. Her hands, worn from years of hard work, knew the rhythm of the earth. During the holidays, her hand-strung beans added something extra to every gathering, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She took pride in these gifts of nature, knowing they were part of something much bigger—the love and care she poured into every dish she made. Faye was known far and wide for her culinary skills, and no family gathering was complete without her famous potato salad and homemade peanut butter candy. It wasn’t just the food that was special, though; it was the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her kitchen was always open, and no matter what you needed, Faye was there, with a smile and a plate ready for you. On birthdays, Faye would sing her own special birthday song, “Cha-Cha-Cha,” making everyone feel cherished on their special day. Her enthusiasm and genuine joy for the people she loved made every moment with her unforgettable. Faye was born on July 1, 1949, to the late Bluford and Queenie Mullins. She was the sixth of ten children, growing up in a home filled with love, laughter, and sometimes a little chaos. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Lisa Deskins, son Mark Anthony Stanley, first husband Morgan Stanley, and her siblings: Kaye Cochran, Anna Justus, Patricia Mullins, Ruby Hunter, Mary Murphy, Jimmy Mullins, Bluford Mullins Jr., and two infant brothers. Faye’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Archie Parrigan, who was her rock and constant companion. She is also survived by her daughters Sherry (Gary) Franklin of Vale, NC; Tonya (Scottie) Robinson of Clintwood; and Shauna (Roy) Counts of Clintwood. Faye's joy extended to her grandchildren Dustin Kennedy, Brett Deskins, Peyton Robinson, and Austin Robinson, and her great-grandchildren, Morgan Hill and Eden Counts. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory forever. Service will be conducted on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm till 7:00 pm, where a service will be conducted at 7:00 pm with Clergymen Frank Hall officiating. Funeral Service will be conducted Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, with clergymen Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street, Clintwood, Virginia Pallbearers will be Dustin Kennedy, Peyton Robinson, Austin Robinson, Morgan Hill, Roy Counts, Gary Franklin, and Scottie Robinson. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Price Viers and his staff for their compassionate care over the years. Their support meant the world to her family, and they are forever grateful for the comfort they provided. The family would also like to thank Pikeville Medical Center ICU 6th floor who never left her side and staff member Tori. Thank you to Rick and Rather and the Mullins Funeral Home staff for their love and compassion. Faye’s love and light will forever shine through the memories she created with those she left behind. Her spirit will continue to live in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the countless lives she touched. She will be missed more than words can express.
