Karen Lydia Reedy

Karen Lydia Reedy, of Clintwood, VA, was called to her heavenly home on May 18, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on December 18, 1949, Karen devoted her life to loving and caring for those around her and was the heart that held her family together. Karen was known by many for her wonderful cooking, especially her famous biscuits and gravy, which became a cherished comfort meal to everyone who gathered around her table. She never let anyone leave her home hungry, and every meal she prepared was made with love. She wore the titles of “Nana” and “Nan Nan” with immense pride. Her family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated her life to making sure each of them felt loved, supported, and cared for. Her home was filled with laughter, warmth, and memories that will be treasured forever. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Inis Marie Dorton; her father, Fletcher Dorton; her brothers, Zegory and Rocky Dorton; her infant sister, Mackie June Dorton; and her beloved son, Matthew Devlin Reedy. She leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, David Lee Reedy, and her son, Stuart Lee Reedy, both of Clintwood; two granddaughters, Jessica Brooke Cooper of Big Stone Gap, along with former grandson-in-law, Michael Eugene Cooper, whom she loved as family. Michaela Susan Marie Mullins (Trevor Smith) of Big Stone Gap, and the light of her life, her precious great-granddaughter, Alexis “Lexi” Rayne Cooper of Big Stone Gap, and the people she loved, Patrick and Casey Boggs and boys, and Sharon Philips She is also survived by her sisters, Delilah (Danny) Graham of Norton, Verina Skeens, and Tammy Meade; her brothers-in-law, Elmer (Robin) Reedy and Lewis Reedy; along with several precious nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 22nd, at 1:00 pm in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm, with clergymen Robert Owens and Eddie Rose officiating. Burial will follow at the Reedy family cemetery, 132 Earnhardt Drive, Clintwood, Virginia 24228 Pallbearers will be Stuart Reedy, Jeremy Mullins, Israel Mullins, Jason Elkins, Brian Smith, Trevor Smith, and Patrick Boggs.
