Linda Darlene "Lou" Crabtree

Linda Darlene Crabtree, lovingly known as “Lou” to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on Saturday July 12 th with family by her side. She resided in Clintwood, Virginia, with her devoted sister and caregiver, Anna Mullins. Born with Down syndrome, Lou lived a life full of pure, radiant love. She never met a stranger and was quick to offer a warm hug—even to someone she had just met. Her infectious smile could light up any room, and her joy was a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Just about everyone that knew her, has a Lou story to tell. Lou was preceded in death by her mother, Draxie Pauline Mullins (Dotson); her father, Tennie B. Crabtree; her special stepfather, Wesley Mullins; 2 sisters, Ada Paulette Fleming and Ima Jean Moore. 2 nephews, Christopher Moore and Colt Moore. She is survived by her loving sister, Anna Mullins of Clintwood; her three brothers, Justin Crabtree of Clintwood, Michael Crabtree of Nickelsville, and her baby brother, Terry Mullins of Bulls Gap, TN. She also leaves behind a large and devoted extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several great great-nieces and great great-nephews all of whom she loved deeply. Pallbearers will be: Michael Crabtree, Terry Mullins, Joseph Moore, Josh Moore, DJ Mullins, Jaxson and Jaeson Butts, Kaden Mullins and Carson Mullins. The family would like to thank the nursing team in the ED at DCH. ICU and Med Surg teams at NCH and Ballad Home Health nurses for loving Lou like their family. We also would like to thank Dr. Graul at DCH ED, Dr. Gopalan at NCH and Dr. Sath in Kingsport for providing exceptional care to her over the years. Although her time on Earth is done, Lou’s legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will live on in each of us. She was truly an earth angel, and her light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched. In honor of Lou’s boundless love, the family asks that you hug someone a little tighter today, light up a room with your smile, and maybe even put on her favorite singer, Conway Twitty. Family will receive friends Thursday, July 17th, beginning at 6:00 PM with a song service to be held at 7:00 PM in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held the following day, July 18th, at 1:00 PM in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with clergy Glen Slemp officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery Clintwood, Virginia Mullins Funeral Home and Staff will be serving the Crabtree Family.
