William (Bill) Lee Ireson

William “Bill” Lee Ireson April 24, 1935 – February 16, 2026 William “Bill” Lee Ireson, age 90, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of February 16, 2026 and entered his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy Ireson; his parents, Gene and Orpha Ireson; and his brothers, Henry Ireson and Eugene Ireson. Bill is survived by his children: Sherry Rife, Ramona Aistrop, Tonya Mullins, Lynne O’Brien, and Greg Ireson. He leaves behind his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Bill was a member of Hamilton Chapel Church; he dedicated much of his life to serving the Lord through music. He was a member of the church quartet and faithfully sang bass for The Jubilaires for 37 years. His deep, steady voice was loved by many and became a familiar and comforting sound wherever he sang. Bill worked for People’s Life Insurance for 37 years, building lasting friendships and serving families with dedication and integrity. He was also a committed member of the Dickenson County Lions Club for 24 years, always willing to help his community. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Bill loved him. He never met a stranger and truly enjoyed having company. He loved conversation, laughter, and simply being surrounded by family and friends. He found joy in the simple things in life. He loved stopping by Hardee’s for biscuits and gravy. He had a deep love for animals and enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Bill was also very talented at woodworking, creating beautiful pieces with patience and skill. Bill will be remembered for his strong faith, his music, his craftsmanship, his love for people, and the steady presence he brought into every room. His life was a blessing to many, and his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Heritage Hall in Wise for the loving care and kindness shown to our Dad/Papaw. He truly loved each of you and cherished the friendships he made there. Your love, support and dedication meant so much to he and to our family. We love you. Services for Bill will be Saturday, February 21st, 2026 at Mullins Funeral Home in Clintwood, VA. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00-1:00 with the Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 with Scott Price, Greg Cyphers and Don Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, VA. Pallbearers will be Scott Williams, Matt Slemp, Bryson Fleming, Sam Ireson and George Ireson Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Grant, Johnny Jordan, Doug Strouth, Willie Fleming and Mike Tompkins
